Description
Cucumber variety "Russian Motifs" is an early-maturing parthenocarpic hybrid that does not require pollination and is suitable for cultivation both in open ground and in plastic greenhouses. This variety belongs to the most productive "bouquet cucumbers", forming 3-5 fruits per node, allowing up to 5-6 kg of crunchy gherkins to be harvested from one plant per season. The fruits have a cylindrical shape, 10-13 cm long and weighing 110-130 g, colored dark green with medium stripes and sparse mottling, with a medium ribbed surface and white fuzz.
In terms of taste and aroma, the hybrid does not fall short of traditional old-Russian varieties, while also featuring a more elegant fruit shape, not overgrowing or forming voids during pickling and marinating. This makes "Russian Motifs" an excellent choice for home canning and fresh consumption. Sowing seedlings is recommended in late April, and transplanting into the ground — at the end of May or beginning of June, when the plants have developed 3-4 true leaves. Direct sowing into the ground in May-June is also possible, with an optimal planting scheme of 50x50 cm.
