REFORMATOR

Reformator — a medium-maturing hybrid cucumber, intended for cultivation in plastic and glass greenhouses, as well as under temporary plastic coverings. The period from germination to fruiting onset is 45-50 days. Plants are robust, balanced, with a well-developed root system that adapts excellently to various substrates such as mineral wool, coconut, peat slate, and soil. Leaves are large, dark green, semi-amplexicaul, resistant to sunburn during early spring periods with sharp changes in light intensity. The hybrid exhibits high shade tolerance and can develop well and fruit even under low light conditions.

Flowering type is predominantly female, with a high concentration of female nodes on the main stem. Each node consistently forms 1 to 3 fruiting nodes, and with increased light intensity, the number of fruiting nodes may reach 3-4. Fruits are elongated-cylindrical, 18-20 cm long, 4.0-4.5 cm in diameter, weighing 180-220 g. They are bright green, large-ribbed, glossy, with dense, juicy, crisp flesh possessing a distinct cucumber aroma.

The Reformator hybrid exhibits high resistance to root rot and cucumber mosaic virus, as well as moderate resistance to Ascochyta blight and downy mildew. Due to its qualities and flavor characteristics, it is excellent for use in vegetable salads and other culinary applications.
