Cucumber variety 'Happy Family' is an early parthenocarpic hybrid, primarily intended for cultivation in protected environments, including polyethylene and polycarbonate greenhouses. Fruit set begins 43-48 days after germination, enabling a quick harvest. The plant is vigorous and indeterminate, with cluster fruiting, which contributes to high yield — averaging 11.5 kg per square meter. The hybrid is resistant to diseases such as cucumber mosaic virus, root rot, and powdery mildew, but has low cold tolerance. Cucumber fruits of 'Happy Family' have a cylindrical shape, length from 7 to 12 cm, and diameter around 3.5-4 cm. The fruits are slightly ribbed, with white spines, crisp and aromatic, free of bitterness. Due to their dense structure, they are ideal for fresh consumption, as well as for pickling, canning, and salting, where they retain their crisp texture. The parthenocarpic nature of the hybrid allows cultivation without pollination, which is especially important for isolated greenhouses and winter conditions. Cultivation of this variety is recommended to begin with sowing seeds at the end of April, followed by transplanting seedlings at the end of May to early June. 'Happy Family' is suitable for use in salads and other fresh dishes, as well as for home canning.
