FRANT

FRANT is a bee-pollinated cucumber hybrid intended for cultivation in open ground and spring plastic greenhouses. It is distinguished by its early maturity, entering fruiting as early as 45-48 days after emergence. Plants have a female flowering type with a short vine, simplifying care and harvest. The fruits of this hybrid are short, 9-11 cm long, large-bumpy, white-furred, cylindrical or elliptical in shape. Due to genetically fixed absence of bitterness, the cucumbers are versatile, suitable for fresh consumption as well as for pickling and conservation.

The FRANT hybrid exhibits high resistance to major cucumber diseases such as downy mildew, olive and brown spot diseases, as well as resilience to false downy mildew. For successful cultivation, medium loamy, well-aerated soils are recommended. Seeds can be sown directly into the soil or grown as seedlings. When growing seedlings, seeds are sown at a depth of 0.5-1 cm at a temperature of 25 °C, and after emergence, the temperature is reduced to 15 °C. Seedlings are transplanted into the soil after the threat of frost has passed. When sown directly into the soil, seeds are planted at a depth of 1-2 cm, and the rows are covered with plastic to retain heat.

Care for plants includes regular weeding, loosening, watering with warm water after sunset, and 2-3 feedings during the growing season using complex water-soluble mineral fertilizers. Harvesting is conducted as green cucumbers ripen. Due to its characteristics, the FRANT hybrid is a reliable and productive choice for gardeners, ensuring a steady harvest of tasty, crisp cucumbers without bitterness.
