Description

Cucumber variety 'Ulibka' is an ultra-early, high-yielding bush hybrid with female flowering type, suitable for cultivation both in open ground and in plastic greenhouses. The cucumbers have a cylindrical shape, white-tipped, with frequent and large bumps, measuring 6-10 cm in length and weighing about 35-40 g. They feature a crisp and firm texture, are not prone to overgrowth, and are free of bitterness, making them ideal for fresh consumption as well as pickling and canning.

The 'Ulibka' hybrid is resistant to major cucumber diseases such as olive spot, cucumber mosaic virus, and powdery mildew, ensuring stable yields of up to 10 kg per square meter. The early maturity of the variety is reflected in a maturation period of approximately 45-46 days, allowing for an early harvest. The bouquet-type flowering with limited lateral branching promotes the formation of cucumber clusters, enhancing harvesting efficiency.

For successful cultivation, seedlings should be sown in the first half of April at a depth of 0.5-1 cm, followed by transplanting 15-20-day-old seedlings at the beginning of May. In open ground, sowing is conducted at the end of May to early June at a depth of 1-2 cm. In greenhouses, cucumbers are grown using trellising. Key agronomic practices include regular watering with warm water, surface soil loosening to protect roots, and fertilization with organic and mineral fertilizers every 7-10 days. Protective measures against diseases and pests may be applied as needed to maintain plant health.
