Maize YAKUB SV

Stable yields in challenging environments

The "Yakub SV" hybrid is a choice for those seeking a balance between high productivity and biological reliability. Developed by the Polesie Institute of Plant Growing, it is designed for farms that prioritize predictable results in temperate climate zones.

Practical field application

As a modified single-cross hybrid, it provides excellent uniformity in the field and synchronized maturity. With an FAO rating of 90–1240 and mid-season maturity, "Yakub SV" offers flexibility during harvest:

• Grain production: the yellow-orange dent-type grain ensures high test weight and efficient moisture dry-down.
• Silage production: excellent leafiness and high nutritional value of the biomass make it a prime candidate for high-quality cattle feed.

Protection and adaptability

The primary advantage of this hybrid is the significant reduction in losses from common corn pathogens. Its genetic resistance to Fusarium, boil smut, loose smut, and stalk rots allows for reduced spending on fungicide applications. A major benefit for agronomists is the high tolerance to European corn borer damage, which effectively minimizes the risk of secondary fungal infections at the entry points of the pests.

"Yakub SV" has proven itself as a reliable workhorse for farms that value not just yield potential, but also stability and consistency in product quality, regardless of seasonal fluctuations.
