Barley YURIY

Winter barley variety 'Yuriy' is a mid-maturing, multi-row grain-forage variety intended for cultivation in the North Caucasus region, including Krasnodar and Stavropol krais. The plant is characterized by medium height, long awned heads, and a vegetative period of 216 to 241 days. The variety belongs to the parallelum type and is distinguished by its lodging resistance and winter hardiness at the standard level, ensuring reliable cultivation under regional conditions.

Variety 'Yuriy' has high yield, with an average of 62.7 centners per hectare and a maximum reaching 111.1-115 centners per hectare. The mass of 1000 grains varies from 33 to 58 grams, and grain protein content reaches 14.1%, making it valuable for grain-forage use. Additionally, the variety is characterized by high spike productivity, shattering resistance, and drought resistance, which contributes to stable high yields.

Variety 'Yuriy' is also characterized by resistance to major leaf diseases, which reduces the risk of yield loss and decreases the need for intensive plant protection. High seed quality guarantees good sowing properties and promotes successful cultivation. The patent holder of the variety is FGBNU 'P.P. Lukyanenko Scientific Center for Plant Breeding', and the seed producer is the company 'Crimean Seed Alliance'.
