Description SY ORPHEUS
Corn seeds SY Orpheus are a mid-early simple hybrid with dent kernel type, intended for grain production. The hybrid features a high yield potential of 14–15 tons per hectare and is well-adapted to various soil-climatic conditions in Ukraine, including forest-steppe zones. The average number of rows per ear is 16–18, and the FAO of the hybrid is 380. Seeds are packaged in 80,000 units and suitable for conventional, minimum tillage, as well as irrigated cultivation.

SY Orpheus exhibits high resistance to stress factors and diseases. The hybrid has good drought tolerance (8 out of 9), frost resistance (8 out of 10), and lodging resistance (9 out of 10). It is tolerant to diseases such as helminthosporiosis, ear fusarium, and common rust. A strong root system and robust stalk ensure reliable plant development, while erect leaf positioning facilitates effective photosynthesis and rapid moisture release during grain ripening.

Recommended planting density depends on moisture availability: under adequate moisture, the optimal density is 95–100,000 plants per hectare; under limited moisture, 85–95,000. The hybrid is suitable for minimum tillage and optimal early planting at temperatures of +8...10°C at seed depth. SY Orpheus demonstrates rapid early development, ensuring quick rooting and vigorous plant formation, as well as high protein (8.3–9.0%) and starch (71–73%) content in grain.
