POLESSKII 212 SV is a medium-early, simple, two-line hybrid corn (Zea mays L.) of universal use. It is characterized by resistance to stalk rot, ear smut, as well as bacterial and fusarium ear diseases. The hybrid demonstrates good resistance to spring frosts and is weakly infested by corn borer, ensuring stable yield under various climatic conditions. The vegetation period ranges from 130 to 153 days depending on the growing region. Plants reach a height of 240-260 cm and have 10-12 leaves on the main stem. The ear is intermediate in shape, with the lower ear attachment height at 80-95 cm. The grain is cream-colored, toothed, with a 1000-seed mass of approximately 324 g. The hybrid has a closed anthocyanin ring at the base of the tassel sheath and medium anthocyanin coloration of the leaf sheath and ear threads. The average grain moisture at harvest is about 25-26%, which is associated with slow moisture release during maturation, making the hybrid suitable for silage use. Yield of POLESSKII 212 SV varies by region: in the Central region, average grain yield reaches 91.7 c/ha, in the Volga-Vyatka region — 33.4 c/ha, and in the Central Chernozem region — 63.3 c/ha. Maximum grain yields reached up to 123 c/ha. When grown for silage, average dry matter yield is 194 c/ha, with a maximum of 253 c/ha. Protein content in the grain is 11.8%, starch — 70.8%, fat — 4.2%, ensuring high nutritional value. The hybrid exhibits good early growth and high grain yield — approximately 75.8%.
