The hybrid corn MAS 47 P is a medium-late, high-yielding variety intended for cultivation in southern regions and forest-steppe zones of Ukraine. It is characterized by stable high yield and good adaptability to various climatic conditions, including drought resistance, especially in the latter half of the vegetation period. The plant is medium-height with a strong stalk, ensuring high resistance to lodging and allowing for late harvest. The hybrid belongs to the medium maturity group with a FAO index of 400, corresponding to a sum of active temperatures until maturity of about 1950 °C.
The ear of corn MAS 47 P has dent corn kernels with good kernel texture, with an average number of kernels per row of 30-36. The plant height and ear attachment are medium, facilitating ease of harvest and processing. The hybrid exhibits high cold resistance, rated at eight points, allowing sowing into soil that has not yet warmed up. Moreover, the corn responds well to high agrofonic conditions, promoting maximum yield potential.
MAS 47 P is versatile in use: suitable for grain production, silage, or processing into starch, with starch content around 8%. The hybrid also possesses high feed value. It demonstrates good resistance to diseases, including Fusarium of ear and stalk, as well as common and blister smut, further enhancing cultivation reliability. The recommended seeding rate varies from 55 to 75 thousand plants per hectare depending on the moisture zone and agronomic conditions.
