MAS 385 Ц — high-yielding three-line modified corn hybrid, intended primarily for cultivation in the steppe soil-climatic zone. This medium-maturing variety with FAO 380 has a vegetative period from emergence to full maturity of approximately 119–121 days depending on the region. Plants reach a height of 220–270 cm, have 12–13 above-ground nodes and 16–17 leaves. The ear is conical, 19–20 cm long and weighs about 254–300 g, with 16–18 rows of kernels and 45 kernels per row. The kernels are cream-colored, with a protein content of about 9.7%, and the 1000-kernel weight is 250–300 g. Grain moisture at maturity varies from 25.7% to 28.2%. The hybrid exhibits high drought, lodging, cold, and heat tolerance, ensuring stable yields under various conditions. It is also resistant to root and stalk rot, as well as to ear molds and tolerant to damage by corn borer. The recommended plant population before harvest depends on the region: in the southern steppe — 32–35 thousand plants per hectare, in the northern steppe — 38–40 thousand, in the forest-steppe — 42–50 thousand plants per hectare. The hybrid negatively reacts to excessive planting density. MAS 385 Ц is suitable for both grain and silage production, demonstrating high yields: average grain yield is 70–75 ц/га, reaches up to 111.6 ц/га under irrigation, and can achieve record yields of 143 ц/га in the forest-steppe zone. Silage mass yield reaches 690–700 ц/га. Thanks to its agronomic characteristics and adaptability, this hybrid ensures high profitability and stable yields under various soil-climatic conditions.
