Luvena

Luvena is a three-line early-maturing hybrid of sweet corn with a vegetative period of about 107-110 days and FAO 180-260, which classifies it as a medium-early variety. Plants reach a height of about 195 cm, have 14 leaves on the main stem, and the ear, approximately 16 cm long, is located at a height of 72 cm. The kernels are dent-shaped, yellow, with a 1000-kernel weight of 287 to 350 g, indicating high yield potential. Grain yield is about 80-82%, and moisture content at harvest is approximately 29%, ensuring good technological readiness for harvesting.

The hybrid is characterized by high yield and stability over years. The average grain yield over the test period was about 10.4 t/ha, with maximum yields reaching 14.3 t/ha. Additionally, Luvena has good moisture shedding, which promotes rapid maturation and reduces grain moisture after harvest. Protein content in the grain reaches 10.1%, starch — 70.9%, and fat — 4.8%, making this hybrid valuable for producing high-quality grain and silage. When grown for silage, the average dry matter yield is about 18.7 t/ha, with maximum values up to 28.2 t/ha, and protein content in green mass reaches 8.5%.

Luvena is characterized by good early growth, resistance to lodging and drought, making it a reliable choice for various climatic conditions. The hybrid is recommended for cultivation both for grain and silage, thanks to its high nutritional content and stable yield. Its intensive growth type and high resistance to adverse factors ensure a stable and quality harvest, which is especially important for farmers aiming for efficient and profitable production.
