LUXIMO Sweet Corn is an ultra-early super-sweet corn (SH2) hybrid with a maturity period of 65-70 days. Plants reach a height of 150-170 cm and form aligned cylindrical ears 19-21 cm long with 18-22 rows of kernels. Ears weigh 260-350 grams, kernels have an attractive yellow color and a very sweet taste, making this hybrid ideal for fresh consumption, freezing, and canning.
LUXIMO corn requires warm, fertile, moist soils and thrives on sunny, wind-protected sites. For successful cultivation, it is recommended to plant it after zucchini, pattypan squash, and other cucurbits, as well as after potatoes, cucumbers, tomatoes, cabbage, and peas. Before sowing, seeds are sun-heated for 4-5 days, then soaked in warm water to speed up germination. Sowing is carried out in mid-May when the soil is sufficiently warmed, at a depth of 5-7 cm. Light plastic covers are used to protect tender shoots from frost.
Plant care includes loosening the soil after rain to improve root development and weed control, as well as organic fertilization. Harvesting is done at the milk stage, while kernels are still soft, lasting about two weeks. The remaining green mass can be used as animal feed. The hybrid is highly disease-resistant and has excellent commercial and taste qualities, making it in-demand both for fresh markets and processing. LUXIMO corn is produced in the Czech Republic.
