The hybrid sweet corn MADLEN is a mid-early three-line hybrid included in the State Register for the Central Black Earth Region. The plant is tall with narrow, straight leaves and medium anthocyanin coloring of roots and silk. The tassel exhibits early-to-medium flowering, medium ear density, and weak anthocyanin coloring of bracts and anthers. The ear is medium in size, thick, slightly conical with a short stalk and a large number of rows of kernels, which have intermediate type and yellow-orange coloration. Hybrid MADLEN is characterized by high grain yield, averaging 76.8 c/ha, which is 14.4% higher than the standard, with a maximum recorded yield of 111.1 c/ha in 2016 in the Belgorod region. Grain moisture at harvest is approximately 27.1%, which is below standard levels, and the vegetation period lasts 120 days. The hybrid shows moderate resistance to stalk rot and low susceptibility to Fusarium and ear mold, ensuring stable yields and product quality. Additionally, MADLEN exhibits high drought and Helminthosporium resistance, making it a reliable choice for cultivation under various climatic conditions. The plant retains green mass until the end of vegetation due to the Stay Green effect, positively affecting silage quality and overall productivity. These characteristics make MADLEN a versatile hybrid suitable for producing both high-quality grain and green mass.
