Description Kodatskyi 442 SV
Corn variety Kodatskyi 442 SV is a medium-late maturing variety with maturity group FAO 430, developed by the Institute of Grain Crops of NAAN of Ukraine and registered in the State Register of Plant Varieties of Ukraine since 2005. This variety is intended for cultivation in steppe zones, including irrigated conditions, making it versatile for various climatic conditions. Kodatskyi 442 SV is used both for grain production and silage production, expanding its application potential in agriculture.

The plant reaches a height of 260-280 cm, characterized by weak bushiness and high resistance to lodging and stem breakage. The main stalk forms 17-18 leaves, and the ear attachment height is 120-130 cm. The cylindrical ear, 21-24 cm long, contains 14-16 rows of kernels, each with 45-48 kernels. The kernels are yellow, tooth-shaped, with a 1000-kernel weight of approximately 250-270 g. The ear husk is red.

The variety exhibits high resistance to adverse factors: resistance to lodging, cold tolerance, drought resistance, and resistance to major diseases and pests are rated at 9 out of 9. The potential grain yield reaches 13.5-14.0 t/ha, while silage yield varies from 56.0 to 70.0 t/ha. The recommended planting density is 30-35 thousand plants/ha in steppe conditions and 55-60 thousand plants/ha under irrigation. All these characteristics make Kodatskyi 442 SV a reliable and productive corn variety for grain and silage purposes.
