Agronomic Profile and Cultivation of Kabaretto

Kabaretto (FAO 360) is a mid-maturing corn hybrid from Corteva Agriscience, engineered for consistent grain production across the Steppe, Forest-Steppe, and Polissya regions. Characterized by dent-type kernels and high adaptability, this hybrid offers reliable performance even under fluctuating environmental conditions.

Planting Strategy and Density

To unlock the full yield potential of Kabaretto, planting should commence when soil temperatures reach at least +10°C. Recommended plant density at harvest depends on local moisture availability:

• High-moisture zones: 70,000–75,000 plants per hectare.
• Low-moisture zones (Steppe): 55,000–60,000 plants per hectare.

Soil Requirements and Crop Management

Kabaretto performs best in fertile, well-aerated soils. Weed control is essential during the 3–5 leaf stage to prevent early competition. Nitrogen management is critical during the 6–8 leaf stage, as this period determines the potential size and development of the ear.

The hybrid’s high stress tolerance allows it to withstand short-term drought conditions effectively. However, if irrigation is available, applying water during critical growth stages—specifically tasseling and silking—will significantly boost the thousand-kernel weight and overall grain yield.
