Description DK Burshytin
DK Burshytin is a medium-maturing hybrid of grain-type sweet corn with FAO 350, developed at the Institute of Grain Crops of NAAS of Ukraine. The hybrid is a simple modified type on a sterile basis with full fertility restoration of pollen. Plants reach a height of 240–270 cm, with ears attached at a height of 95–115 cm. Ears are 20–25 cm long, cylindrical in shape, with 14–18 rows of yellow-orange dent kernels. The 1000-kernel weight ranges from 300 to 330 g, starch content is 73.4%, and protein content is 8.2%. Grain yield reaches 81–83%, ensuring a high potential yield of up to 14.7 t/ha under optimal conditions.

The hybrid exhibits high drought, lodging, and disease resistance against a broad spectrum of diseases, including rust, corn smut, and gray leaf spot, stalk rot, and gnomosporiosis. It also shows low infestation by corn borer and other pests. Thanks to its intensive moisture release at the stage of full grain maturity, the hybrid enables rapid drying, reducing costs for bringing grain to a conditioned state. DK Burshytin responds well to improved growing conditions, demonstrating stable yields under various climatic conditions.

Recommended for cultivation in the Steppe and Forest-Steppe zones of Ukraine with optimal planting density of 50–55 thousand plants per hectare in the Steppe and 70–75 thousand in the Forest-Steppe. The hybrid is suitable for both grain and silage production, making it a versatile solution for agricultural enterprises. Due to its characteristics and adaptability, DK Burshytin is a cost-effective and reliable option for farmers seeking high and stable yields under variable climatic conditions.
