Crosby corn from Rost Agro is a simple, high-yielding, intensive early-maturing hybrid designed for grain and silage production. This hybrid is distinguished by its high stability and quality of yield, allowing it to compete with the best foreign analogs in its maturity group. Plants reach a height of 220-230 cm, have conical-cylindrical ears 20-22 cm long with 14-16 rows of yellow, cream-colored, toothed kernels. The 1000-kernel weight is 260-270 g, and ear attachment height is within 70-80 cm. The Crosby hybrid is characterized by high resistance to lodging, major diseases and pests, as well as drought and heat, confirmed by resistance ratings of 8-9 points. The hybrid's stems are strong, resistant to stretching and breakage, and the plant architecture promotes high moisture shedding, facilitating harvest. The hybrid responds well to improved growing conditions and exhibits accelerated moisture shedding, reducing grain moisture at harvest and increasing grain yield by up to 80%. Recommended growing zones include the Polissia, Forest-Steppe, and Steppe regions of Ukraine, with optimal plant densities varying by region: 80-90 thousand plants/ha in Polissia, 70-80 thousand in Forest-Steppe, and 50-70 thousand in Steppe. Seeds are treated with fungicide (Maxim XL) and supplied in packages of 80,000 seeds. Based on multi-year trials, the average yield of the hybrid reaches 7.5 t/ha at harvest grain moisture of around 14%, making Crosby a reliable choice for farmers seeking high productivity and quality yields.
