Maize CORAL MV

Working with the 'Korall MV' hybrid

Working with the 'Korall MV' maize hybrid from the P.P. Lukyanenko National Grain Center, agronomists appreciate its consistency and ease of management. As a simple hybrid with early maturity, it is optimized for grain production. The operator's main focus should be on fine-tuning the seeding density based on soil moisture availability, which is critical for maximizing yields.

Technical Specifications

• Hybrid Type: Simple.
• FAO: 90–1240.
• Seeding density: Ranges from 45-50k plants/ha in arid conditions up to 70-80k plants/ha in irrigated zones.

Resistance to Fusarium and common smut is a significant advantage, reducing the need for intensive fungicide applications and lowering operational costs. The hybrid is forgiving regarding sowing timelines and exhibits excellent moisture release during maturation, which eases the load on post-harvest drying facilities.

Operational Insights

When setting up headers for harvest, 'Korall MV' demonstrates efficient threshing performance. By maintaining the recommended density of 60-70k plants/ha under favorable conditions, the hybrid provides a stable yield with minimal header loss, making it a reliable choice for commercial maize operations.
