Maize Blast

Genetic Potential and Culinary Profile

The «Blast» hybrid from Agrimax Europe Limited is a selection product focused on a specific market segment: fresh consumption and professional culinary applications. Unlike standard field varieties, this hybrid was developed in Serbia through the collaborative efforts of Agrimax, Zeamax, and Best Seed Producer, prioritizing the organoleptic properties of the kernel over dry matter yield.

Technological Kernel Characteristics

• Sugar Content and Texture: The kernel is characterized by a high concentration of soluble sugars, making it optimal for boiling and processing. The hybrid maintains a delicate pericarp texture even upon reaching technical maturity.
• Trait Stability: Leveraging Serbian genetics, this hybrid demonstrates high adaptability to European moderate climatic conditions. The originators focused extensively on preserving flavor profiles across varying weather cycles.
• Usage: The primary niche includes farms and agricultural enterprises oriented towards retail chains and the HoReCa sector. The absence of excess starchiness makes this variety a preference for side dishes, roasting, and inclusion in ready-to-eat meals.

The practical value of «Blast» lies in the balance between agronomic endurance and gastronomic quality. The crop produces a predictable yield of marketable cobs, which is crucial for sales planning within the fresh produce market.
