Albireo

Albireo sweet corn is a stable and plastic early-maturing hybrid with FAO 260. This hybrid features a flinty-toothed kernel type and is intended for grain production. Albireo is recommended for cultivation in western, central, northeastern, and southern regions, confirming its adaptability to various climatic conditions. The optimal planting density at harvest is 75-80 thousand plants per hectare under sufficient moisture and 65-70 thousand under insufficient moisture.

Albireo plants reach a height of 280-310 cm, with an ear attachment height of 100-120 cm. The ear contains 16-18 rows of kernels, with 28-36 kernels per row, totaling 440 to 640 kernels per ear. The 1000-kernel weight ranges from 320 to 420 grams. The kernel contains 74% protein and 74% starch, ensuring high nutritional value and technological suitability. The hybrid’s yield potential reaches 180 centners per hectare, confirmed by trials in various regions.

Albireo is characterized by high resistance to stress conditions, including cold tolerance and drought resistance. The hybrid exhibits good resistance to lodging and major diseases such as Stewart’s wilt, helminthosporiosis, stem and ear fusarium, and stem breakage. Early and vigorous plant development ensures high energy growth at the initial stage, enabling full ear formation and high kernel fill.
