Leonido

Leonido is a medium-early simple hybrid of sweet corn with high resistance to various diseases, including stalk and ear rot, helminthosporiosis, and stem and ear fusarium. Plants are strong, reaching 250-270 cm in height, with high resistance to lodging and stem breakage. Ears form with 14-16 rows of kernels, approximately 40 kernels per row, totaling 560-640 kernels per ear. The 1000-kernel weight is 360-380 g, with starch content reaching 73.2%, ensuring high-quality grain and vegetative mass.

Leonido has high feed potential due to high leafiness of plants, making it valuable for silage and grain production. Grain protein content is 9.2%, further enhancing its nutritional value. The hybrid is recommended for cultivation in various regions, including western, central, north-eastern, and southern areas, with optimal planting density of 75-80 thousand seeds per hectare under adequate moisture and 65-70 thousand under insufficient moisture.

The yield potential of the Leonido hybrid is 180-200 centners per hectare, confirmed by trial results in various regions. The hybrid forms well-developed ears with full kernels and exhibits tolerance to cold and drought, making it a reliable choice for farmers seeking a stable and high-quality sweet corn harvest.
