Maize Alpedro

Reliable Yields of Sweet Corn

When choosing a sweet corn hybrid from the Austrian breeder Saatbau, such as "Alpedro," farmers primarily look for predictable performance. This hybrid requires careful attention to the agro-background, but with proper technology, it delivers an excellent commercial yield with superior grain taste qualities that are highly valued in the fresh produce market.

Field Performance and Cultivation Experience

The hybrid adapts well to temperate climate conditions. A key factor for any producer is uniform emergence. When planted in warmed soil, the variety demonstrates excellent early growth energy, which is critical for weed control during the early stages of vegetation.

• Grain type: Sweet, ensuring high appeal to the end consumer.
• Use case: Fresh market sales or industrial processing.
• Origin: Austria — high quality standards for Saatbau seed materials.

Maintenance Recommendations

To maximize the marketable yield, "Alpedro" requires timely irrigation. This type of corn is sensitive to water stress during the flowering and grain-filling phases. With precise fertilization and protection against pests common to the sweet corn group, this hybrid produces uniform cobs that are convenient to harvest both manually and mechanically. Lodging resistance is at a solid level, which simplifies operations for equipment operators during the harvest season.
