AGN340 — a mid-season hybrid of sugar corn with a vegetation period of approximately 114-123 days depending on the growing region. This hybrid was developed by the Ukrainian breeding brand MAIS and is recommended for cultivation in all territorial zones of Ukraine, especially in southern and central regions. Due to its adaptive properties, it demonstrates high yield and resistance to various climatic conditions.
The potential yield of AGN340 varies depending on the growing zone: in the Polissia region, it reaches up to 18 tons per hectare, in the forest-steppe zone — around 17.5 tons, and in the steppe zone — up to 15.5 tons per hectare. The hybrid is highly drought-tolerant, resistant to high solar radiation, and possesses moderate cold tolerance. Additionally, it shows tolerance to major corn diseases such as downy mildew and gray leaf spot, as well as to pests including corn borer and other insects.
Morphologically, plants reach a height of about 240 cm, with ear attachment height of approximately 95 cm. The ears are well-filled with kernels, having 18 to 20 rows, ensuring high quality and stable yield. Thanks to its combination of high productivity, resistance to adverse factors, and favorable morphological characteristics, the AGN340 hybrid is a reliable choice for farmers seeking high and stable sugar corn yields.
