SIBERIAN JUNIPER

Juniperus sibirica is a prostrate evergreen shrub that can reach a height of up to 5-8 meters, although it is more commonly found as a compact shrub. Its native range includes Siberia, Central Asia, and the European part of Russia. It features soft scale-like needles containing toxic essential oil, which provides the plant with special protection. Juniper is highly frost-resistant and capable of withstanding soil salinity, making it universal for various climatic conditions and soil types.

One of the popular varieties is Juniperus sibirica Rokeri Jam, characterized by a dense, horizontal crown shape with lush scale-like and needle-like foliage of rich green color. Adult plants reach a height of 0.2 to 0.5 meters and a diameter of 2-2.5 meters, growing about 0.2 meters in height and 1.5-2 meters in diameter over 10 years. This juniper has a deep and highly branched root system, contributing to its stability and good soil anchoring.

Juniperus sibirica prefers sunny locations but can also grow in partial shade. It is resistant to short-term drought, however, it thrives best with moderate and regular watering. The plant forms small round cones measuring 0.5-0.7 cm, which are initially green and then turn dark blue with a grayish bloom. Thanks to its decorative form and rich evergreen foliage color year-round, Juniperus sibirica Rokeri Jam will become an effective accent in landscape compositions and private collections of ornamental plants.
