Description Callisto
Red Clover variety CALLISTO is a diploid, early-maturing variety characterized by high productivity potential and significant protein content. Trials show that up to 2.5 tons of crude protein can be obtained per hectare, making this variety especially valuable for feed use. CALLISTO features rapid spring growth and early flowering, which facilitates effective use in various agronomic systems.

The variety has good lodging resistance, ensuring rapid regrowth after mowing and enabling multiple cuttings per season. Average dry matter yield in the Central region is 84.6 centners per hectare, with a maximum of 228.2 centners. Protein content in the plant is approximately 16.7%, while fiber content is 28.2%, ensuring high-quality feed.

CALLISTO combines well with other grasses in mixtures, particularly upright and tall species such as Italian ryegrass, hybrid ryegrass, and festulolium. This versatile variety suits various farms and is widely used for producing silage, hay, and haylage, revealing its significant potential in feed production.
