Sweet cherry Sakharov's Memory

Reliable Yields with Reduced Chemical Input

For growers focused on minimizing fungicide applications, the "Pamyat Sakharova" sour cherry variety serves as a strategic asset. Its primary value lies in its genetic resistance to coccomycosis, a disease that typically forces orchards to increase spraying costs. Choosing this variety ensures predictable yields even during high-humidity seasons, when most stone fruits suffer from premature defoliation.

Agronomic Advantages and Farm Application

Classified as a sour cherry (Prunus cerasus), "Pamyat Sakharova" is valued for its stability. In commercial orchard operations, the variety offers several practical benefits:

• Ripening Profile: A mid-early ripening period allows for better management of labor during harvest and post-harvest logistics.
• Orchard Management: The trees feature a compact, well-foliated canopy, which simplifies pruning, structural training, and manual harvesting processes.
• Stress Tolerance: Excellent resistance to fungal foliage infections allows the tree to maintain photosynthetic activity until late autumn, which is critical for successful fruit bud development for the following season.

The variety is highly recommended for commercial and small-scale orchards in temperate climates where the risk of coccomycosis epidemics remains significant. By requiring minimal chemical protection, "Pamyat Sakharova" is an optimal candidate for operations aiming to produce sustainable yields while reducing overall production costs.
