Variety selected by VSTISP, seedling of Zhukovskaya. Authors: H.K. Enikeev, S.N. Satarova, B.S. Simonov. Introduced into the State Register in 2001 for the Central region.
Medium-sized tree with a medium-dense, round-oval crown. Bark of the trunk is gray, with longitudinal cracks. Shoots grow vertically, with light-brown bark. Few lenticels. Buds are slightly offset from shoots. Leaf blade is large, folded along, oval, dark green. Leaf blade consistency is leathery, upper surface shiny. No pubescence on the lower surface. Leaf margin is doubly serrated. Leaf apex is acuminate, base is wedge-shaped. Petiole of medium length. Petiole color is medium. Very few glands. Glands are small and pink. Average number of flowers in inflorescence. Corolla of small diameter, flat. Petals are loosely arranged, slightly fringed, broadly oval, white. Calyx is cup-shaped. Stigma is positioned below the anthers. Numerous, short stamens. Pedicels are short, with bracteoles. No serration on calyx lobes. Fruits set primarily on one-year growth.
Fruits of medium size (4.1 g), dark red, round. Detachment from the pedicel is semi-dry. Flesh is red, juicy, slightly acidic-sweet (4.4 points), medium density. Juice is rose-colored. Pedicel of medium length and thickness, with large bracteoles. Stone is round, short, wide, thin. Stone weight is 0.35 g, 8.3% of fruit mass; easily separates from flesh. Fruits have dessert flavor, suitable for general use. Pedicel detaches semi-dry from the fruit. Fruits contain 15.7% dry matter, 9.8% sugars, 1.4% organic acids, 15.1 mg/100g ascorbic acid.
Early-mid season flowering and ripening variety, self-fertile, early-bearing (enters fruiting on the 3rd year after planting in a garden). Fruit ripening is uniform. Fruit production is abundant and regular. Average yield — 8–10 kg per tree, maximum — 16 kg. Moderately resistant to coccomycosis. High winter hardiness of tree and flower buds, low wood hardiness. Good recovery ability after freezing damage. Moderate resistance of flowers to spring frosts.
Advantages of the variety: high yield and fruit quality.
Disadvantages: moderate winter hardiness and susceptibility to fungal diseases.
