Origin of the variety: Zakharyevskaya × Menzelinskaya. Breeder — Tatarian Research Institute of Fruit Growing. Authors: N.M. Rostochkov, L.A. Sevastyanova. Introduced into the State Register in 1988 for the Middle Volga region.
Medium-sized tree; round, dense crown; moderate leafiness; strong silvering of branches; medium buds, vegetative conical, generative ovate, slightly deviated from the branch; leaves inversely egg-shaped, dark green, without anthocyanin; apex rounded, bluntly pointed, base broadly wedge-shaped, serration of edge finely toothed, leaf surface weakly shiny, matte, hairless, flat, slightly curved upward like a boat; petiole short (10 mm), medium thickness, colored with anthocyanin on half its length. Flowers: small number per inflorescence (1-3), medium size, corolla bowl-shaped, petals white, touching, stigma positioned higher than stamens. Flowering and fruiting type — mixed.
Fruit: weight 4.8 g, height 18 mm, width 23 mm, thickness 20 mm, shape broadly round, funnel shape medium, apex slightly depressed, color dark red, flesh and juice color dark red, flesh density medium. Peduncle short — 32 mm, thin; stone round, weight 0.2 g, 4.2% of fruit weight, color light brown, apex rounded; base rounded, good detachment from flesh.
Fruit appearance excellent, flesh juiciness strong, flavor good, slightly tart-sweet. Dry matter content — 13.2%, sugars — 9.57%, acids — 1.64%, ascorbic acid — 10.5 mg/100g. Table variety, general purpose. Special feature of detachment from peduncle — the funnel flesh slightly damaged in a small portion of fruits. Not suitable for mechanical harvesting; weak resistance to fruit cracking.
Flowering period — 2nd-3rd decade of May; early ripening — 1st decade of July, simultaneous, uniform. Age of fruiting onset medium (3-4 years after planting); plant longevity medium (20-22 years). Self-sterile. Yield — 10 t/ha. Tree moderately resistant to winter frosts; generative buds and flowers sensitive to winter frosts; moderate resistance to coccomycosis.
Recommended for use as a selection resource, for amateur and industrial cultivation; not suitable for intensive garden types.
Advantages of the variety: large fruit size, early ripening, good regenerative capacity.
Disadvantages: self-sterility, moderate winter hardiness, low rooting ability of green cuttings.
