In 2025, the State Register of Plant Varieties of Ukraine was updated with a promising new entry — the "Erli Star 1" nectarine. This variety is the result of dedicated breeding efforts by STOV "ENOHRAI," a company committed to strengthening the domestic fruit industry. The introduction of this variety marks a significant step forward for Ukrainian farmers looking to mitigate risks and secure harvests at the earliest possible dates.

Adaptability and Potential

"Erli Star 1" is officially recommended for cultivation across all key agro-climatic zones of the country: the Steppe, the Forest-Steppe, and Polissya. Such broad regional adaptability highlights the variety's high plasticity. The tree is of medium size with a semi-upright habit and moderate growth vigor, which significantly simplifies orchard maintenance and pruning operations.

Botanical Characteristics

The variety belongs to the very early ripening group of nectarines. The morphological traits of the tree and fruit, recorded during the registration process, emphasize its commercial viability:

• Flowering: Rosette-type flowers with a white corolla and strong anthocyanin coloration on the flower-bearing shoots.
• Foliage: Long, wide, light-green leaves with a crenate margin, ensuring efficient photosynthesis.
• Fruit: Round, symmetrical, and medium-sized. A distinctive feature is the flat shape of the pistil end and a weakly visible suture, giving the fruit a clean, high-quality appearance.

Its universal utility makes "Erli Star 1" an attractive choice for both the fresh market and the processing industry. The absence of pubescence on the ovary and the balanced morphological characteristics of the fruit suggest excellent transportability and high appeal for the end consumer.
