Variety from the Dagestan Experimental Station for Horticulture, obtained by crossing varieties Early Marka x Franz Joseph. Author A.S. Pokrovskaya. Introduced into the State Register in 2002 for the North Caucasus region.
Medium-sized tree, 5.0-5.5 m tall, with a round, wide-spreading, densely foliated crown. One-year-old shoot of medium thickness, natural greenish color. Generative and vegetative buds of medium size, positioned at an angle to the shoot. Generative bud elongated-spherical (egg-shaped), vegetative bud elongated-pointed shape. Leaves large, elongated-pointed with a tapering tip and rounded base, serrated edges. Leaf size 13.1-4.8 cm. Leaf color green. Upper and lower leaf surfaces smooth. Leaf slightly curved. At the base of the leaf, symmetrically located on the petiole are two medium-sized burgundy glands. Petiole 2.7-3.8 cm long, medium thickness, lavender-green color. Flowers of medium size, white with a pink tint, petals round and concave. Inflorescence — umbel, consisting of 2-3 flowers. Flower corolla is circular, petals arranged opposite each other. Surface of the stigma and stamens is spherical, with the stigma protruding above (stamen length 5-6 mm, stigma length 7-8 mm). Calyx shape spherical, edges of the sepals smooth. Flowering and fruiting occur at the base of the one-year-old growth and on flowered branches.
Fruits round in shape, with slightly pronounced shoulders (19 x 20 x 18 mm), the ventral suture groove barely visible. Fruit cavity small but deep. Fruit weight 4.7 g, dark red color. Flesh tender, juicy, with pink veins. Flesh and juice red in color. Taste sweet with harmonious acidity. Taste rating of fresh fruits 4.9 points. Fruits contain 10.3% dry matter, 7.73% sugars, 0.33% acids, 4.49 mg/100g ascorbic acid. Fruit shelf life — 3-4 days. Transportability of fruits medium. Fruits have an attractive appearance and high taste qualities. Pedicel medium length — 36 mm and thickness — 0.2 cm, moderately attached to the fruit. Fruit detachment from the pedicel dry. Pit very small, round shape, with barely visible grooves, smooth surface, weight 0.25 g, which constitutes 5.3% of fruit mass. Pit apex slightly concave inward, base slightly elongated. Pit easily separates from flesh. Fruit cracking index in rainy weather is 22.1%. Intended use dessert and technical, for processing into high-quality jam and compote.
Variety enters fruiting at 4-5 years after planting in the orchard. Early ripening — flowering period 23-30 April, ripening period 22-31 May (3-4 days earlier than the control regional variety Dagestan Early). Fruits ripen simultaneously. Yield is 25.0 kg per tree or 83.0 centners/ha. Variety partially self-fertile.
Frost resistant in winter. Resistance level is 92%. Resistance of opened flowers to spring frosts — above average. From fungal diseases, moniliosis is noted — 1.2%. Variety is relatively drought-tolerant, but prolonged summer droughts may negatively affect tree condition, potentially causing wilting and suppression.
Suitable for intensive orchards. Does not require special pruning, only sanitary pruning, responsive to watering and fertilization.
