Variety from the Dagestan Experimental Station, obtained by crossing the varieties Aprilskaya Chornaya and Drogana Yellow. Author A.S. Pokrovskaya. Registered in the State Register in 1947 for the North Caucasus region.
Medium-sized tree — 4.5-5.0 m tall, with a round, spreading, densely leafy crown. One-year-old shoot of medium thickness, natural greenish color. Vegetative and generative buds of medium size, positioned at an angle to the shoot. Generative bud elongated-oval (egg-shaped), vegetative bud elongated-pointed (cone-shaped). Leaves relatively large, elongated-pointed shape with a tapered tip and rounded base. Leaf size 14.8-7.2 cm. Intense green color. Upper and lower leaf surfaces smooth. Leaf slightly curved. At the base of the leaf blade, on the petiole, two large red glands are symmetrically located. Petiole of medium length (18-20 mm), medium thickness (0.3 mm), reddish-brown color. Flowers of medium size, white petals round, moderately concave. Inflorescence — umbel, consisting of 3-5 flowers. Flower corolla shape is circular, petals arranged opposite each other. Surface of the stigma and anthers is spherical, with the stigma protruding above (stamen length 5-6 mm, stigma length 7-8 mm). Calyx shape is spherical, calyx lobe edges smooth. Flowering and fruiting occur at the base of one-year-old shoots and on umbel inflorescences.
Fruits have a blunt-heart shape, with slightly pronounced shoulders (21 x 23 x 20 mm), with barely noticeable ventral suture. Fruit cavity is deep, slightly elongated in the direction opposite to the ventral suture. Fruit weight 6.4-6.8 g, dark red color. Flesh tender, juicy, red with light pink veins. Juice red. Sweet taste with harmonious acidity. Taste evaluation of fresh fruit 4.9 points. Fruits contain dry matter — 11.9%, sugars — 7.26%, acids — 0.67%, ascorbic acid — 7.67 mg/100g. Transportability medium. Fruits have an attractive appearance, high taste quality, dessert use. Easy detachment from the pedicel, making the variety suitable for mechanized harvesting. Fruit cracking index in rainy weather is medium (12.3%). Pedicel of medium length — 41 mm (thickness 0.2 mm). Stone is round, with slightly pronounced grooves, elongated shape, stone apex slightly concave inward, base elongated to a point, surface smooth. Stone weight 0.4 g, which constitutes 62% of the fruit weight. Ventral suture of medium width. Stone separates easily from the flesh.
Early-mid season ripening variety, flowering period 20-29 April, ripening from 1-12 June. Partially self-fertile. Enters fruiting on the 4-5th year after planting in the garden. Fruits ripen simultaneously. Yield is 21.0 kg per tree or 70.0 centners/ha.
Frost-resistant in winter. Generative bud winter hardiness is 94%, opened flower spring frost resistance is above average. From fungal diseases, moniliosis is noted — 1.2%. The variety is relatively drought-tolerant, but prolonged summer droughts may adversely affect the tree's condition, potentially causing wilting and suppression.
Suitable for intensive orchards. Does not require special pruning, only sanitary pruning, responsive to watering and fertilization.
