Obtained from crossing varieties Goshе х Jabule. Originator — Daghestan Experimental Station. Author A.S. Pokrovskaya.
Tree medium-sized, with a broad-pyramidal, well-leafed crown. One-year shoot of medium thickness, greenish color. Growth and generative buds of medium size, positioned at an angle to the shoot. Generative bud egg-shaped, growth bud elongated and pointed. Leaves of medium size with elongated apex and rounded base. Leaf size — 13.6 x 6.0 cm. Throughout the leaf, edges are parallel only to the apex, leaf tapers with distinctly serrated edge. Color deep green. Upper and lower leaf surfaces smooth. Leaf slightly curved. At the base of the leaf blade, on the petiole, two large red glands are symmetrically located. Petiole of medium length (19-21 mm), medium thickness (0.2 mm), brownish color. Flowers of medium size, white, petals rounded, moderately concave. Inflorescence — umbel, consisting of 3-5 flowers. Flower corolla shape is circular, petals positioned opposite each other. Surface of the stigma and stamen presents a spherical surface, above which the stigma protrudes (stamen length 5-6 mm, stigma length 7-8 mm). Calyx shape is spherical, edges of the sepals smooth. Flowering and fruiting occur only on bouquet branches.
Fruits have a blunt-heart shape, rounded shoulders, and barely noticeable ventral suture, dark burgundy color. Fruit pit is small but deep. Fruit weight 6.0-6.4 g, dimensions 20 x 22 x 20 mm. Fruit and flesh color dark red. Flesh tender, juicy, burgundy. Juice red-colored. Taste sweet with harmonious acidity. Sensory evaluation of fresh fruits 4.9-5.0 points. Fruits contain dry matter — 11.0%, sugars — 8.0%, acids — 0.60%, ascorbic acid — 5.72 mg/100g. Storage period 5-6 days. Transportability medium. Fruits have attractive appearance and high flavor qualities. Pedicel of medium length — 39 mm. (thickness 0.2 mm). Fruit detachment from pedicel is easy, making the variety suitable for mechanical harvesting. Fruit cracking index in rainy weather is medium (12.8%). Pit is rounded, with distinct grooves, elongated apex and pointed tip. Pit surface smooth. Pit mass 0.4 g, which constitutes 6.2% of fruit mass. Ventral suture relatively wide. Pit separates easily from flesh. Variety purpose is universal. After processing, fruits yield high-quality compote and jam.
Early-to-medium ripening variety, flowering period 19-20 April, ripening — 1-12 June. Fruits ripen simultaneously. Variety enters fruiting on the 4-5th year after planting in the orchard. Partially self-fertile. Yield is 19.0 kg per tree or 63.0 ц/ha.
Variety resistant to winter frosts. Generative bud winter frost resistance is 90%, open flowers’ resistance to spring frosts — above average. Fungal diseases include moniliosis — 1.0%. Variety is relatively drought-tolerant, but prolonged summer droughts may negatively affect tree condition, leading to wilting and suppression.
Suitable for intensive orchards. Does not require special pruning, only sanitary pruning; responsive to watering and fertilization.
