Seedling from open pollination of the Chinese King variety. Developed in America in 1870 by H. Rumpf. Included in the State Register in 1947 for the North Caucasus region.
Trees are vigorous with a spreading crown.
Fruits are large, up to 150 g, broadly oval in shape. Skin has a velvety down, yellow-orange with a blush, medium density. Flesh is orange-yellow, medium-fibrous, with a sweet-tart flavor. Fruits ripen in the third decade of August, containing 11.6% dry matter, 7.4% sugars, 1.11% acids, and 5.28 mg/100g ascorbic acid. Fruits are transportable and can be stored for 6-8 days.
Winter hardiness of generative buds is high. Enters fruiting stage at 3-4 years. High yield, up to 150 centners/ha, averaged 78.4 centners/ha from 1983 to 2000. Good resistance to fungal diseases.
