BLACK CRANBERY

Black Cranberry is a cherry variety developed at the Steppe Horticulture Laboratory of FGBUN "NBS-NNC" by crossing the Denisen Yellow and Black Eagle varieties. The tree is vigorous with a dense and spreading crown, beginning to bear fruit in the 4-5th year. Fruits ripen in the second decade of June, have a broadly round shape and large size — average weight is about 8 grams. The main fruit color is dark burgundy, almost black at full maturity, with dense burgundy pulp and dark red juice.

The taste of the fruits is harmonious, slightly sour-sweet, with a high tasting score of about 4.8-5.0 points. The fruits differ in dense texture and dry detachment from the peduncle with medium attachment strength. The variety possesses high drought resistance, which makes it especially valuable for cultivation under insufficient moisture conditions. In addition, Black Cranberry is characterized by high yield and good transportability, allowing fruits to be used both for fresh consumption and for processing.

The Black Cranberry variety tree has good frost hardiness and requires pollinators for successful fruiting. Thanks to its qualities, this variety is widely used in horticulture to produce large, tasty and attractive fruits that retain their properties during transportation and storage.
