Gift of the Steppe

The 'Gift of the Steppe' peach variety is a medium-early Ukrainian selection that begins ripening in early August. The tree has medium growth vigor and a moderately dense, spreading canopy, reaching heights of 3.5 to 4.5 meters. Grafted saplings start bearing fruit on the third to fourth year after planting, with fruits developing on last year's growth. The variety has moderate winter hardiness and resistance to major diseases, making it suitable for cultivation in steppe and forest-steppe regions of Ukraine. The 'Gift of the Steppe' peach fruits are medium-sized, with weight varying from 85 to 135 grams depending on the specific variety. The fruit shape is round-oval, slightly flattened on the sides, with a dense skin and slight fuzz. The skin color is light yellow or cream with a pink or deep-red blush, which may cover up to 70% of the surface. The flesh is snow-white or pale-yellow, very juicy, with a tangy-sweet or sweet flavor, hinting at honey notes and a mild acidity. The pit is small and easily separates from the flesh. 'Gift of the Steppe' peach is characterized by high yield and good transportability, with fruits maintaining their quality during transit and remaining on the tree for up to 10 days without falling. The variety is suitable for both fresh consumption and processing. Thanks to its frost resistance and immunity to most common diseases, this peach is a reliable choice for gardeners and commercial cultivation.
