Celery ISKANDER

Professional choice: Iskander root celery for consistent yields

When selecting root celery for professional farming, the operator prioritizes reliability and cycle predictability. The 'Iskander' variety, developed by the Federal Scientific Center for Vegetable Production, serves as a precise tool for early harvesting. With a maturity window of 70–80 days, it allows you to get a marketable product to the market before peak summer heat and high disease pressure make crop maintenance exponentially more difficult.

Operational Efficiency and Resistance

Field conditions are often unpredictable, but 'Iskander' reduces the burden on the agronomist. Its inherent resistance to powdery mildew and watermelon mosaic virus significantly cuts down the need for intensive fungicide spraying. For a farm owner, this translates into lower input costs and a reduced chemical footprint on the soil, making it a sustainable choice for your crop rotation.

Practical Field Considerations

• Mechanical compatibility: The well-formed, uniform root structure is highly suitable for mechanized harvesting, which decreases labor costs and minimizes mechanical damage during post-harvest washing and packaging.
• Schedule management: The 70-80 day growing cycle allows for precise logistics planning, capturing the early market window when prices are traditionally higher.
• Agronomics: The variety responds well to standard water and nutrient management protocols. It exhibits high plant uniformity, which simplifies field maintenance tasks, from weeding to harvest management.

The breeding work by Vyacheslav Ludilov and Maria Ivanova provides a reliable plant type that has been rigorously tested. Utilizing this genetic material allows farm operators to focus on maximizing yields rather than firefighting unexpected crop issues mid-season.
