Celery President RZ

The Dutch Gold Standard for Celeriac Cultivation

The «President RZ» celeriac hybrid, developed by the world-renowned breeder Rijk Zwaan, represents the pinnacle of Dutch agricultural engineering. In the competitive vegetable market, where uniformity and disease resistance are paramount, this variety has established itself as a reliable choice for professional growers aiming for high-quality root production.

Agronomic Excellence

The defining feature of «President RZ» is its genetic balance. It produces a vigorous foliage canopy that effectively covers the crown, while the root itself develops into a perfect spherical shape with smooth skin. For the end-consumer and processor, the white flesh without core hollowness makes it a top-tier choice for fresh market supply chains and culinary preparation.

Resilience Against Pathogens

Fungal and viral threats, particularly Septoria leaf spot and celery mosaic virus, are the primary adversaries of celeriac yields. Rijk Zwaan has engineered «President RZ» with a strong resistance profile, significantly reducing the necessity for intensive chemical intervention. This not only improves the safety and ecological footprint of the produce but also enhances the economic bottom line by ensuring consistent harvest volumes.

• Category: Root celeriac.
• Core Resistance: High tolerance to celery mosaic virus and Septoria.
• Usage: Commercial production focused on fresh market sales and long-term storage potential.

By integrating «President RZ» into your crop rotation, you are choosing a predictable outcome. The Rijk Zwaan heritage ensures that even under variable climatic conditions, the harvest remains consistent in size, health, and marketability.
