Celery Ilona

Ilona Celery is a medium-early root variety developed by the Dutch seed company Bejo Zaden, intended for cultivation in open ground. The plant is fast-growing, with green leaves and round, white roots reaching up to 2 kg in weight. The roots have a firm skin and juicy, succulent flesh that retains its vibrant white color even after thermal processing. High dry matter content enhances the flavor, making it suitable for both fresh consumption and processing.

The variety is resistant to bolting, which ensures a stable yield and product quality. Ilona has high cold tolerance and adapts well to various growing conditions. The plant is grown from seedlings with a recommended planting scheme of 40x40 cm. Thanks to its excellent transportability and marketability, the roots maintain an attractive appearance during long-term transport and storage.

Care for Ilona celery includes moderate watering, soil loosening, weed control, pest protection, and feeding with organic fertilizers. The variety is intended for fresh market sales and processing, making it universally popular among vegetable growers and consumers.
