Silach

Root celery of the Silach variety is a medium-maturity variety with powerful and juicy round roots measuring 10-12 cm in diameter and weighing up to 600 g. The root surface has a yellowish tint, while the ivory-colored pulp is tender and juicy. The leaf blade is a rich green color with light green stalks. The variety is valued for its high yield, pronounced aroma, and high sugar content, making it in demand both fresh and for drying, cooking, and canning. The maturation period ranges from 140 to 180 days depending on growing conditions, corresponding to the medium-maturity period. The plant forms semi-erect rosettes of leaves, and the roots contain essential oils and mineral salts that promote improved metabolism and increased body tone. For successful cultivation, sowing for seedlings is recommended from February to March, followed by transplanting 50-60-day seedlings into open ground, maintaining a distance of 15 cm between plants and 45 cm between rows. The variety requires fertile, moist soils, poorly tolerates acidic soils and frost, and needs regular fertilization with mineral and organic fertilizers. Silach is well-suited for cultivation both in open beds and greenhouses, requiring abundant watering to achieve maximum yields, which can reach 25-30 kg per square meter.
