Carrot NELEX

Stable storage and resistance: Why professionals choose Nelix

The Nelix carrot variety from the Dutch breeder Bejo Zaden B.V. is designed for growers focused on long-term supply chains. In the late-maturing segment, the key factor is not just storage capability, but the crop's ability to resist pathogens during the growing season. Nelix stands out due to its genetic resistance to powdery mildew, which significantly reduces the need for chemical treatments and keeps the foliage healthy until harvest.

Geometry and marketability

Visually, Nelix meets all modern retail standards. Its perfectly cylindrical shape facilitates mechanical harvesting and washing, minimizing product damage and off-grade percentages. The vibrant orange color is maintained even after long-term storage, which is crucial for retailers who prioritize shelf appeal. With root weights ranging from 80 to 150 grams, this carrot is versatile, making it ideal for both retail pre-packaging and industrial processing.

Who is this for?

If your farm targets winter and spring sales, Nelix is a reliable addition to your crop rotation. Its main advantage over competitors is predictability: you get uniform, high-quality produce that maintains its density and shape in storage. Like any high-performance Dutch hybrid, it requires careful soil preparation, but when managed with proper agronomy, it delivers excellent profitability.
