Carrot Chantenaya A Coeur Rouge

French Excellence in Carrot Breeding

The «Shantane Chervone Sertse» (Red Heart) variety, brought to market by the French breeding house Vilmorin-Mikado, represents the gold standard in the Chantenay segment. Designed for professional growers, this variety is prized for its reliability and consistent performance across varying climatic conditions. With a maturity cycle of 100–110 days, it offers farmers the predictability necessary for efficient logistics and supply chain planning.

Agronomic Strengths and Utility

The root anatomy of this variety is its defining feature: a perfect conical shape, measuring 10–15 cm in length, with an average weight of 150–200 grams. These dimensions are highly sought after by processing facilities, as they ensure minimal waste during mechanical peeling and slicing. The vibrant orange color remains stable throughout the harvesting and storage process, maintaining marketability and nutritional quality.

The Vilmorin-Mikado Advantage

Selecting Vilmorin-Mikado genetics is an investment in uniform yield. For large-scale operations, uniformity is the key to reducing harvesting costs and maximizing marketable output. «Shantane Chervone Sertse» is versatile enough to be used in early-season setups under plastic film, as well as in traditional summer sowing cycles. Its robust structure provides high resistance to mechanical stress during machine harvesting, ensuring the product reaches the consumer in prime condition.
