Carrot Francis

Carrot variety Francis is a late-maturing type Flakke variety with a vegetation period of 140-150 days. The roots are conical, reaching 22-25 centimeters in length, and feature a vibrant orange color with a smooth surface. The shoulders of the carrots do not turn green, and there is no anthocyanin coloring, giving the roots an attractive appearance. The variety has excellent taste and aroma, making it suitable for various purposes.

Francis is highly resistant to cracking and suitable for mechanical harvesting, simplifying the harvesting process. Due to its qualities, this variety’s carrots are ideal for processing and long-term storage, retaining their flavor and quality over an extended period.

For successful cultivation, use loose, fertile soil with good water retention and aeration. The best preceding crops for planting Francis carrots are legumes, garlic, onions, and tomatoes, while it is not recommended to plant after dill, parsley, or celery. Crop care includes thinning seedlings to regulate planting density, regular watering throughout all growth stages, and fertilization one month and two months after germination.
