Carrot variety Flakke — a late-maturing French variety with a full maturation period of about 140-160 days. The roots reach a length of 20-28 cm and a weight of 180-230 grams, have a conical shape and a uniform smooth surface with a reddish-orange color. This variety is distinguished by high resistance to cracking and diseases, and is not prone to nitrate accumulation, making it safe and beneficial for health. The roots have a juicy, sugary taste with high vitamin content, especially appreciated when eaten fresh or used in juices and purées.

Flakke is recommended for cultivation on light, well-loosened sandy-loam or clay loam soils, in open and sunny areas. The optimal planting time is in spring (March-April) or autumn (October-beginning of November). Regular thinning of seedlings and watering during the vegetative period are necessary to obtain uniform and high-quality roots. Good predecessors for this variety include tomatoes, cabbage, and cucumbers. Yield ranges from 4 to 9 kg per square meter, equivalent to approximately 80 tons per hectare.

Carrot Flakke is distinguished by excellent storability and transportability, retaining its market qualities during storage and transport. It is versatile in use: suitable for fresh consumption, canning, stewing, pickling, and processing into juices.
