Description
Carlano carrot is a mid-late hybrid of the Nantes type, developed by the Dutch company Seminis. The maturation period is 115-120 days, allowing for harvest at optimal times. The roots have a cylindrical shape, 20-22 cm long and 2-3 cm in diameter, with uniformity, smooth surface, and vibrant orange color. The internal structure is dark orange with a thin core, giving the vegetable an attractive appearance and high flavor quality — sweet and aromatic. The leaves are dark green, strong, up to 40 cm long, forming a well-developed rosette.
Carlano hybrid is intended for cultivation in open ground, especially on loose soils. It tolerates mechanized harvesting well, simplifying agronomic work. The carrot is resistant to cracking and bolting, contributing to high yields and excellent storability. Due to these qualities, the roots maintain freshness and market appearance during long-term storage and transport, making the hybrid popular for fresh consumption, processing, juice production, and canning.
Carlano has high nutritional value, containing a large amount of vitamins and beneficial substances, including apigenin, which positively affects heart function. The hybrid can germinate at temperatures as low as +3 degrees, with optimal conditions for fruit development ranging from +18 to +25 degrees. The recommended sowing rate is 1.1–1.2 million seeds per hectare, ensuring efficient use of sowing area and stable yields.
