Description Catalina
Carrot variety Catalina is a mid-late hybrid with a vegetative period of 110 to 115 days. The roots are cylindrical to slightly conical, 17-19 cm long, with smooth skin and a deep orange color both inside and out. The flesh is dense, juicy, and sweet, with high content of dry matter, carotene, and sugar, ensuring excellent flavor and attractive appearance.

This variety exhibits high resistance to cracking, bolting, and heat tolerance, as well as good resistance to major diseases such as alternaria, false powdery mildew, and scab. The carrot tops are upright, strong, and dark green, indicating plant health and resilience. Catalina is suitable for mechanical harvesting, simplifying agricultural operations.

Catalina carrots are ideal for long-term storage, processing, canning, and freezing, as well as fresh consumption. Due to its high adaptability, the variety grows well on heavy soils and retains its qualities until the next harvest. Recommended planting rate is approximately 1-1.2 million seeds per hectare. Producer — Japan.
