Crop Stability and Storage Potential: Retail Cabbage

For agricultural enterprises focused on retail chain supplies, product longevity and marketability are critical. The Retail cabbage hybrid by Agrooptima is designed to meet professional market requirements for long-term storage.

Agronomic Features and Protection

A maturity period of 120–130 days allows for precise harvest scheduling, ensuring the development of dense, uniform heads weighing between 2 and 4 kg. This size range is ideal for retail packaging. The hybrid demonstrates high field resistance:

• Genetic tolerance to Fusarium wilt prevents losses during the active vegetative growth phase.
• Resistance to bacteriosis minimizes the risk of rot during periods of variable humidity.
• Effective defense against Alternaria blight allows for reduced fungicide applications, lowering production costs.

Storage and Processing Practices

The primary advantage of the Retail hybrid is its storage potential of 10 to 12 months. This allows farmers to capitalize on seasonal price increases rather than selling immediately during harvest. The dense structure of the head ensures excellent transportability, while superior taste makes it highly sought after for both the fresh market and the processing sector, including fermentation and salad production.

Cultivating this hybrid is particularly effective under intensive farming conditions with drip irrigation, which helps maximize marketability and ensure consistency across every harvest batch.
