Cabbage ORANGE HEART

Focusing on Aesthetics and Long Storage

The leaf cabbage "Orange Heart" from the agricultural firm "Sedek" is a non-traditional variety that challenges common perceptions of standard cabbage. Developed by a breeding team including S.V. Dubinin, I.N. Dubinina, and A.N. Lukyanenko, this product is tailored for growers who seek a balance between commercial appeal and culinary quality.

Key Specifications

• Vegetation period: 100–110 days.
• Head weight: 1.0–2.0 kg.
• Storage life: 3–6 months, a rare trait for this type of cabbage.

The main advantage of this variety is the combination of head density and delicate leaf texture. Unlike many other leaf varieties, "Orange Heart" boasts excellent shelf life, making it a perfect commodity for the extended season. You can sell the crop not only during the peak harvest time but also in mid-winter when there is a scarcity of fresh produce on the market.

Who is this variety for?

"Orange Heart" is ideal for small and medium-scale farmers focusing on niche fresh market segments and processing. Due to its structure, the cabbage is well-suited for traditional dishes, salads, and pickling. It requires standard agricultural care, but with proper management, it rewards the grower with high marketable yields and consistency.

Strengths and Weaknesses

The strengths include the high density of the head while maintaining excellent flavor and superior storage capability. The main weakness is the necessity for precise planting timing, as the hybrid is sensitive to temperature fluctuations during the head formation stage. It is not a "field weed" but a professional-grade crop that requires careful attention to detail.
