Granat

Granat cabbage is a mid-late variety of red cabbage intended for fresh consumption and storage. The plant forms dense heads of elliptical or round shape weighing from 2 to 2.5 kg, which have a rich dark purple color both outside and inside. This variety is distinguished by high yield and resistance to cracking, making it attractive for growing and marketing.

Granat cabbage is characterized by cold resistance and light-loving properties, and requires constant soil moisture, especially during rooting and active growth. The optimal temperature for growing is from +15 to +20 °C. The plant prefers fertile soils and responds positively to fertilizer application. Growing is possible both by seedling method and direct sowing of seeds into the ground. Seedlings are planted 45-50 days after sowing, and the vegetation period until technical maturity is 125-145 days.

The Granat variety is suitable for growing in various conditions, including open ground and film coverings. Cabbage withstands unfavorable conditions well, is not prone to diseases and flowering. The harvested crop retains its market appearance during transportation and long-term storage. Due to its taste qualities and high vitamin content, Granat cabbage is widely used for preparing fresh salads and hot dishes.
