Cabbage MISS CHINA

Technical specifications of "Miss Kitaya" Chinese cabbage

The breeding work of the Sedek company on the "Miss Kitaya" hybrid focused on creating a stable product for the fresh produce market. Unlike late-maturing varieties intended for long-term storage, this hybrid represents a classic solution for intensive crop cycles.

Biological cycle and yield formation

A vegetation period of 50–60 days from transplanting allows for efficient harvest scheduling. From a physiological standpoint, this maturity duration ensures optimal accumulation of dry matter, which is crucial for the taste profile of Chinese cabbage. The head density and leaf structure are adapted to meet retail requirements: marketability is maintained during transport, and the risk of cracking is minimal, provided that proper irrigation techniques are followed.

Application and agronomic practices

• Production cycle: The short vegetation period makes this variety suitable for both spring and summer planting windows, depending on day length.
• Storage: The storage potential of 1–2 months requires stable temperature regimes (+1...+2°C) and humidity levels between 90–95%. This is a standard parameter for early-maturing hybrids, necessitating prompt distribution.
• Usage: An ideal choice for salad mixes and fresh consumption, where leaf tenderness and petiole juiciness are the key value drivers.
